Two teens face drug charges after an arrest over the weekend in the Stirling area.
Late Saturday night (11:45 pm), officers with the Central Hastings Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a well-being check on the occupants of a running motor vehicle.
As a result of further investigation both the driver and passenger were identified, arrested, and charged contrary to the Criminal Code.
Logan FRIEL of Campbellford (age 18) was arrested and charged with:
· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – CDSA 5(2) – two counts (suspected fentanyl & cocaine)
· Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose – (CC) 88
· Fail to comply with Release Order – CC 145(4)(a) – three counts
· Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – CC 354(1)(a)
The 17-year-old passenger from Ajax was arrested and charged with:
· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – CDSA 5(2) – two counts (suspected fentanyl & cocaine)
· Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose – (CC) 88 – two counts
· Fail to comply with Release Order – CC 145(4)(a)
· Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – CC 354(1)(a)
Both teens were held in custody for a bail hearing on Monday in Belleville.
